How do u defeat Master Murai in the first part of Ninja Gaiden xbox game?

Please help as I jus started playing Ninja Gaiden game!!!

2. The best tactic I've come across is to force him to do a backstep and then quickly thrust your sword forward. Basically it's a two-step process: 1) Do the charge up attack from the wall (Big giant blue blast on the ground), this will cause him to do a backstep. 2) I can't remember the exact combination of buttons, but you can slide across the ground with your sword into an up-arcing slash. This almost always hits him after the backstep. 3) Immediately backflip and flip a different direction because he will try to throw you if you miss. It's tough at first, but it's the fastest way to beat him in my experience. If it doesn't work, just keep practicing, you'll get it in no time. And just a little heads-up, this guy is one of the hardest bosses I've come across in the game so far, and I'm a bit into it so far. :) Hope this helps.
